Unrealism: An Artists Talk by Omsk Social Club

Unrealism is the longest continual Real Game Play that Omsk Social Club has ever created. Running over three different platforms and lasting 56 days the game is a multimodal approach to exploring the idea of life online as Cosmic depression – Paradise without ecology. In this special online talk Omsk Social Club will explain the methods and mechanics of Unrealism, looking at their inspiration for the piece and also the wider political context that the work performs itself inside. Musing on questions like the ontology of the avatar, necropolitics of data and the atomisation of identity Omsk aims to show the viewer a little of their chaos creation through the unpacking of this living digital work.

Unrealism ist das längste kontinuierliche Real Game Play das Omsk Social Club je geschaffen hat. Es läuft über drei verschiedene Plattformen und dauert 56 Tage. Das Spiel ist ein multimodaler Ansatz zur Erforschung der Idee der Online-Existenz als Kosmische Depression – als Paradies ohne Ökologie. In diesem Online-Vortrag wird Omsk Social Club die Methoden und Mechanismen von Unrealism erläutern und dabei ihre Inspiration für das Werk und auch dessen breiteren politischen Kontext betrachten. Omsk sinniert über die Ontologie des Avatars, die Nekropolitik der Daten und die Atomisierung der Identität und ermöglicht dem*r Betrachter*in durch das unpacking dieses lebendigen digitalen Werkes einen kleinen Einblick in ihre Chaosproduktion.
